The "Death" is a universal truth irrespective of religion, nationality, color, cast and creed, which cannot be denied. Unfortunately we are very much involved in this materialistic world and forgetting that we are living in this world temporarily, leading to our permanent destiny toward the Paradise (Inshallah). In fact death is very close to us, but we are ignoring this reality due to our struggle being successful in our worldly life.

The society we are living is multicultural, things are coming expensive day by day, and so is the burial of the dead person too. At time's families are not able to bear the expenditure or have short of money due to several reasons.

These grief families not only hurt due to sad demise of their near and dear ones but also emotionally helpless due to financial condition involved in burial. This reason is enough to break a family emotionally and mentally. Keeping this in mind we decided to provide financial help to grief family by their contribution, which is based on $105.00 principal member and $15.00 for additional family members (husband, wife and children's) once in a life, saving them to take donations, barrow, or sells their valuables in order to meet necessary expenditure involved in burial.

To avoid above mention circumstances, we decided to establish a "Funeral Services for Bangladeshi Canadians and Canadian Bangladeshi".

BFS is another initiative of BCCB. The purpose of BFS is to establish a platform through membership, involving unity and networking in our group. We want to share each other's sorrow at time of need and standby to each other against whatever odds we may have to face in our lives. In case of death of any family member BFS will bear up to Can $6,000 of the expenditure involved in burial, so the family should not feel helpless due to uncertain circumstances created by financial burden. This great cause will hopefully be transferred to next generation as a SADAQAH JARIYAH. Inshallah.

So let us join hand to hand to our great cause of BFS. As we all have to face death one day or the other.

We will be partnering with local Mosques and Muslim funeral services to provide the services to provide funeral servies in different cities and regions aound Cnada. In future we will gradually extend our services to comfort the family, counselling etc. For example, we will sign memorandum of understanding (MOU) with FASP and Nugget Mosque in order to run this operation with in GTA.

BFS will coordinate between deceased member’s family and the funeral service provider. BFS will be the contact point for the members of this organization. Once the service is provided - BFS will transfer the fund for completing the burial processes.

We will extend the BFS funding method to other faith groups in future if there is enough interest from those groups.

As per scholars, when someone participates in a funeral and burial of a deceased in their community is considered as "Wajib".

• By contributing in a funeral or burial, you are fulfilling your religious duties. It is a "Sadaqah - A - Jariyah".

• A deceased family may need financial support to complete love ones last right of funeral and unable to ask for help. Joining BFS could be a way of helping such families.

• When someone passes away abroad, it is a difficult moment for the family of the deceased. Financially solvent members would also need lot of logistic supports, that BFS volunteers will be ready to provide.

• You can have a peace of mind that fellow members and volunteers are there to support your family as you did for others.
